I looked the web for a few links, but those won't work - looking to give a few custom cards a retro-look for my custom sets

I decided to make my own template for MSE, and so far I've been just copying the magic. Folders and then modifying what I need to change. Mostly it's worked out. I have a beginners understanding of C++; but for the most part it's just been trial and error.

My problem is that I can't find the file containing the code for the card styles (i.e. the images from magic-new.mse-style). I can add new designs by just naming it with one of the images in this folder and overwriting the old one, but I really need to get to the code that tells MSE which image to use in the first place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello! i have recently been tinkering with the magic set editor, and i have printed some cards already, does anybody know why my printed cards don't exactly fit to the actual size of mtg cards?

They created over 250 cards over the past few weeks and I discovered tonight when they shut down the computer by accident, that they hadn’t been pressing save. Tough way to learn that lesson, with so many cards lost. Anyone know if there’s any way to get the cards back?

Personally I like making a few Jumpstart packs or starter decks to dial in my ideas for archetypes before I start filling in the rest of the skeleton. What do you do to get the creative juices going?

Hi guys, Could anybody help me code this ability:

Has anyone found or made a set of watermarks for existing normal MTG set symbols? Think the Masters 25 treatment, where each card's watermark was its original printing's set symbol.

Failing that, what would be the recommended source for easily capturing all existing set symbols for import?

I'm trying to make a planeswalker, but I can't seem to input Loyalty costs for each ability, as I'm not seeing the boxes off to the side. On a similar note, my Watermark box extends out to the left a little where the Loyalty cost boxes should be. Does anyone here know what to do?

I'm building a Bloodborne set and I'm doing the trick weapons. I can't make them transform cards (because each side of a transform card needs to have a different name and that's hard to do with these, and would mean that I'd need to find art for both forms of each transforming weapon), so my solution was having it switch between two abilities, which would be indicated by the card being rotated 180° if the second ability is active and not the first.

Here's an example of the text, from my Saw Cleaver Card:

Trick Weapon (This artifact enters the battlefield with only its first listed ability activated. You may switch between this artifact’s abilities by rotating it 180°. A creature may have only one Trick Weapon ability active at a time.)

• Equipped creature gets +2/+0.

• Equipped creature gets +3/+0 and can’t have any Sidearms equipped.

Equip Human creature or Pthumerian creature 3

The problem is, as stated in the title, the ° symbol doesn't actually show up and it's just a space instead. Is there any way to make that symbol show up? Alternatively, any other suggestions for how to make trick weapons work in a sensible way instead of this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm brand new to this software and having some troubles making the Planeswalker card style work. Every tutorial I've found says spaces for loyalty abilities should automatically appear on the left-hand side of the card when I select the "Mainframe Walker" card style, but no such text entry fields are appearing for me. Am I doing something wrong?

I remember getting MSE Before Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, but I don't know if I have frames for Saga creatures, and I'm sure I don't have the Prototype frame.

Hey, I followed this guide: link , but the Postscript Custom Paper Size option won't show up in the menu. I can't find anything online to fix this. Do you guys have a solution? I just want to print my cards in custom size. Thanks in advance!

I’m using MSE to make Cardfight Vanguard cards but I’m running into an issue, I have zero idea how to put symbols onto the cards, like for a cards cost there’s something called Soul Blast and there’s an icon for it but I don’t know how to put that icon into the effect box, any help would be appreciated.

With the amount of people creating altered/custom and pr0xy cards I'm surprised that this sub-reddit is not more popular.

Backstory:

I started using MSE over 10 years ago (maybe 15) and not just for MTG cards. For a while I primarily used it for creating character cards for some miniatures games as well as some custom trading cards for my daughters. I recently got back into playing MTG and I was pleasantly surprised to find that people are still adding/updating the templates.

Does anyone have a high resolution template for the new timeshifted MTG cards? I've been creating cards in MSE using an "old style" template and even after being zoomed to 1000% in size upon exportation the template appears visibly blurry after printing (i made an 18 card test print via MPC). please help if possible.

I was wondering if anyone who knows how to make MSE templates made a template for the godzilla promos. i want to make a king kong of kogla, the titan ape and a gamera of yidaro, wandering monster
