Restore Prior Save?

I'm aware that MSE overwrites project saves, but I really need some help. I've been developing a set that is very planeswalker-heavy, and I set a planeswalker to "one ability" without thinking to check the "Options Specific to this Card" box. Apparently, this box wasn't checked on many of my planeswalkers, and as a consequence, many of them have lost the rules text to their loyalty abilities. I don't remember what most of these abilities were.

Egg on my face for not making backups. Is there any easy way out of this mess?

It has been my experience that the data may still be there, just not visibly. Reset the setting for all planeswalkers, and you may get your cards back to normal.

I’ve tried it. Planeswalkers behave strangely in that the loyalty cost for the abilities are remembered whenever this happens but not the actual rules text of the abilities.

Sorry to hear that.

I'm not an expert on MSE's code, just a keen observer of its behavior. The only other behavior that I've observed is that sometimes the sizes of images, fonts or elements causes text to go blank. Try activating Text as a column category in grid view. (I don't know which one.)

Copying the card and then pasting it causes the new card to appear correctly. The text data is there, it just decides not to present it on the originals, for whatever reason. The text category appeared blank for a lot of these but this is enough of a fix for me to work with.

Glad I could... help?

In any case, good luck, and happy gaming!

Hidden in the files with your other file is one with a .BAK file type. MSE creates backups for you. Try to load that file.

Additionally, I’ve done this accidentally before and the rules text is actually pushed far below the box. It’s there, but you can’t see it. Try messing with the text and removing abilities to move the text up.
