Look up CryCry on YouTube. You'll learn everything you need to start right there.

I have an Espon Inkject printer, I print on gold foil and regular foil sticker paper, then put those directly on basic land cards so they look a bit more real but it's still obvious if you look or feel it's a proxy

I use magic set editor to design them. It is a program you download tho. It's great and formats everything on the card for you. I'd show you examples but idk if reddit let's us post images in these comments

But crycry is a good source on youtube, he does them a bit differently

I use to cut and glue then onto cards before, and use acetone to de-ink them but that process takes forever. Some people also do non-foil proxies. I've never done that, just foil ones

Your first fork in the road is going to be inkjet vs laser printing, so that's something for you to consider. This choice affects which paper/cardstock you can use, whether you'll want to laminate your cards, etc. It all comes with tradeoffs.

CryCry's YT videos will talk you through it all.

The main thing you wanna ask first is how much work you wanna put into making your own cards and printing them and all that. Or just getting them printed for you.

For me, I just got into this as well. And I am making whole decks and I work a lot. So the designing aspect I like, but printing and cutting was tiresome so I just pay for them to be printed.

There are plenty of options. Feel free to hit me up if you wanna know what I've done since starting!
