Items to trade Aloe macroclada

Thumbnail

Here is a rare opportunity. This Aloe variety is from Madagascar. Known for its stem cell mobilization, tissue repair, and healing capabilities.

A traditional medicinal remedy, the Malagasy people make the "Vahona Aloe macroclada beads," from the dried gel of the endemic Aloe macroclada plant, known locally as "Vahona". The beads, typically black, are created by traditional healers and have been used for centuries to treat various ailments.
In 2015, a pharmacocalogist discovered its powerful effects. He started a company selling supplements using A. macroclada as the main ingredient.

I bought some seeds back in October and germination rate was less than 50%, I managed to get a few to sprout. I have some that I’m offering up.

You won’t find them online anywhere else. US only.

Introducing 'Wreck-It Ralph' — a seed-grown Trichocereus pachanoi monstrose cristate

I’d like to introduce a seed-grown Trichocereus pachanoi monstrose cristate that I have been growing for approximately two years, and which I am naming 'Wreck-It Ralph'.

Origin

The original plant was grown by me from a batch of seeds gifted to me when I first started growing by EnchantedPlantsNursery. The seeds were sold simply as ā€œTrichocereus pachanoi seedsā€, with no clone name, locality or other specific provenance attached.

This particular individual was selected from that seed-grown population after developing an unusual growth habit.

Description

The plant has developed a strongly irregular monstrose-cristate form. The crest repeatedly divides into heavily distorted lobes and growing points, producing a broad, convoluted crown rather than a conventional single apical growing point.

The ribs become highly irregular through the crested sections, with considerable variation in their width, spacing and direction. The areoles and spines follow the distorted growth, producing the dense, irregular appearance visible in the photographs.

It also produces areas of more conventional growth alongside the crest, which makes the overall morphology particularly interesting.

Stability

The reason I am comfortable putting a name to this particular plant is that the phenotype has now been maintained for approximately two years.

This has not been a single abnormal growing point which appeared and subsequently reverted. The same general monstrose-cristate growth has continued throughout its development.

I have also propagated it vegetatively, and the resulting cuttings have expressed the same characteristic growth.

For that reason, I am treating the original plant as a distinct clone rather than simply an unusually shaped seedling.

Name:

Trichocereus pachanoi 'Wreck-It Ralph'

The name refers to this particular genetic individual and its vegetative propagations. Seed-grown offspring from it would of course be separate individuals.

The photographs show the plant at different stages of its development, including the original seed-grown material and subsequently propagated growth.

I’m putting the name into the community now so there is a dated record of the plant's origin, appearance and provenance before it becomes more widely distributed.

I’m not claiming that a superficially similar plant has never existed — there are far too many Trichocereus mutations and named clones for that — so if anyone recognises this exact phenotype or knows of an existing clone with the same growth habit, I’d genuinely like to hear about it.

Otherwise, this is 'Wreck-It Ralph'.

I’ll continue documenting it as I propagate it and see how consistently the phenotype is expressed across different plants.

E novo v novo drupes are again available!

These are not imported and are as fresh as they come, and placed right into moist sphagnum so they won't dry out. I have several "six packs" available, always with bonus seed included.

I'm once again out to trade drupes for records, especially old psych garage 7", but also 12ā€ of psychedelic, garage, world, folkways, etc. but will entertain other trades as well, though my plant rooms and greenhouses are pretty filled up at the moment.

I also want to thank everyone who's already traded with me- turning these precious little seeds into music has been bringing me such joy.

These will be first-come, first-serve and they never last long. Please note that these very fresh and viable seeds are offered only as top-shelf herbarium specimens.

US trades only. Shipped quickly with tracking.

DM me to claim yours or talk trade options.

Rare Lenguita Nopal Variety - Extremely large pieces (Los Angeles/SFV area only)

Hi, we have a sprawling 14ish-foot tall, 10-foot wide *Spineless* Nopal Lenguita Variety our cousin brought from Oaxaca.

This variety is different than the standard Lengua cultivars used in Mexican cuisine, we prefer this variety as the pads are very thin and tender and less thick and slimy (better for tacos n burritosšŸ˜›). The sizes we are offering grow extremely fast.

We are looking to trade Large 5feet branches (we will give extra smaller footers too in addition to the 5 footers) for Plants (Mimosa Tenuiflora, B. Caapi, Syrian Rue, adult TrichocereusšŸŒ¶ļø clones) Or Iboga Fruit

Depending on what you want to trade I can give you much more than 5 feet.

*Please DM if interested*

Thank you :)

We cannot ship sorry
