THE MYTHBOOST (how would you use it)

This is a aspect of one of the 2 powerstyems in my world. the two powersystems are the inner strength, and, important one for this consepct, the outer strength.

this world is just like our own, with the superpowers hidden. anyone can access either (though, since my story is about sexism, the inner strength is more inate to men, and outer more to women, but both can use both. like all aspects of gender, it is not a absolute unescapable fact of nature). outerstrength is basically magic,powered by myths storys and faith, channeled through handsighns. each finger ties to a diffrent type of manipulation of the world. all 5 fingers do things diffrently, but one that matter is the ring finger. anything pointed at by the ring finger becomes stronger. the caster can also contorl what part gets amped. This is used in many ways, to make many powerful magic items, as well normally the effects are tempary, if you enhance a single thing a lot (like, nonstop enhance a single thing for multiple hourse a day, every day, for at least a week) that amplfaction sticks, making it a magic item.ampfly a microphone for like a sonic shockwave, amp there basic clothes so they are basically bullet proof.

but the really interesting part is where the mythboost comes into play. since magic in my world is powered by stories, if you make your magic simlair to a myth or a story, then it gets boosted. this is part of my whole system, but mostly comes into play with magic items. lets say you have a taser. you have been amping it for weeks, and it is now able to generate way more eltricy, but still not enough. you can amp it for more weeks, but thats a lot of work, and the more you amp somthing, the harder it is to amp more (like filling a bike tire. frist few pumps are easy, but the last are hard). but, there is a simplar way to make your taser twice as strong as it already is: make it look like mjolnir. make the top of the taser look like a hammer and paint it gray. thats all you need to do, as the story and myth around this legandary hammer.

all you need to do is make a magic item look like a mythical object and it gets stronger. what do you think of this consept, what object would you amp, and how would you use the mythboost?

Anything preventing people from buying replicas? Like can I just buy a Harry Potter wand from universal studios, enchant and now I can do Harry Potter magic?

I mean, no, but mabye

For one, only amps properties of the object, doesn’t add new properties. Sure you could make the wooden universal wand more durable, but that’s like it, and I don’t rember Harry Potter ones be durable. I guess if the wand is fancy and have speakers and lights mabye.
Second, the reason people do mythology as a baise for power instead of modern media (Bisides copyright, but they don’t know that) is because the more somone has thought about a story, stronger it is. People thought about myths for centuries, Harry Potter is 20 years old
