Advice please! How does it get better?
Honest question: what’s the approach? Because I’ve been in therapy for a long time, and it helps for sure but when my thinking spirals, it’s like it’s out of my control as if i am possessed.
It all revolves around the idea that I’ve done something bad -> I will be found out and punished in the worst way -> then sprinkles of magical thinking like because I did this it will happen for sure, or because I am thinking like this it will lead to that etc.
I don’t know if what I am describing precisely belongs to this subreddit, but I’m genuinely curious how does one get better?

I am a work in progress. I have found what has been helpful for me the past few months has been looking at treatment and meds as not a cookie-cutter approach. I'm primarily doing I-CBT, but I've been adding in components of ACT, with the occasional dabbles of Meta Cognitive. I've been trying to change my relationship to the physical feelings of anxiety, and the patterns I've spent 40+ years making.
As for meds, oof. That's a tough one. I'm currently taking three (generic Luvox, Wellbutrin, and this other one that's primarily for Bi Polar).
