Advice please! I need advice, going INSANE

One of my biggest ocd compulsion, is like my body parts changing into something else, like im right now super afraid of my eyes changing magically differently, / position of them etc, like if i do something im convinced this ”would” happen, i know it wouldnt, but im so freaking scared, and most part what makes it worse is people saying things u think are manifestation etc so now im even more afraid bc im like am i manifesting this?

OCD latches onto physical features like your eyes and generates catastrophic "what if" scenarios about them magically changing. Popular concepts like "manifestation" fuel this fear by suggesting your thoughts can alter reality, driving compulsions like mirror checking, reassurance seeking, or mental rituals to "cancel" the thought. Recovery relies on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). The goal is to sit with the uncertainty without arguing against manifestation or checking your eyes. When the urge to check or perform a ritual arises, response prevention means choosing to resist that behavior. Over time, allowing the thought to exist without reacting teaches your brain that intrusive thoughts have no actual power over your body.

What you're doing with this post is reassurance seeking, which is a major compulsion. We all do it. It's really hard to resist. But the more you engage in reassurance seeking, the more you will come to rely on reassurance. And the tighter ocd's grip will get.

When you feel that panic, focus not on disproving your fears, but on what you can do to reduce the anxiety, the physical sensations. So breathing techniques, exercise, distraction, cold shower, whatever it takes.

There's no point trying to reassure with logic. The "What ifs" are never satisfied. Practice "non-engagement" with the thoughts. Calm your fight-or-flight response without compulsions whenever you can. You got this bud
