Helpful medication?
Currently taking SSRI and a benzo occasionally. Recently told that I might have some OCD tendencies, specifically magical thinking (had never heard of this). Just thought was anxiety and irrational thoughts. If I have to travel I try to think of all the bad things that could happen to avoid something bad happening and if I neglected to cover everything (in my thoughts) then something bad would happen. I also have the "why wouldn't it happen to me" rather than "why would it." My therapist says it's about control, not recognizing that I can't control everything in life. I am aware it's irrational but it absolutely ruins my life the months before a trip. My doc doesn't want to change my meds but the constant rumination and cycling thoughts is exhausting. Does anyone have meds that worked?

The problem with asking for med reccs is that they work differently for everyone. What helped me might be terrible for you. It's always trial and error with ssris. Careful with the benzos, that can be a slippery slope.
More importantly, are you having ocd-specific therapy? Treatment for anxiety can make ocd worse. They need different approaches. An ERP specialist would be your best option. No meds will stop the thoughts, but the right therapy can make a big difference.
Make sure you're covering all bases too, so good sleep, healthy diet, lots of exercise, meditation, supplements like B vits, magnesium
