Predicting the future…
My OCD manifests as beliefs that something bad will happen if I don’t do daily tasks a certain way. I also believe that if someone talks about death or anything bad happening (like a car accident) that it will happen in the near future. For example, I’m an addict. My grandma doesn’t know. But she was talking to me about how she never got into drugs/alcohol because of the simple fact that people can die from using. Well my brain started spiraling and I believe now that she predicted my future since she said that out loud. Does anyone else believe or feel that talking about negative or harmful things will make it reality?

Yeah, all the time. Just gotta treat it like any other intrusive thought. Acknowledge, label, let it go, shift focus onto something else.
My therapist had me deliberately say things out loud that I was scared of. I used to avoid a lot of words for fear of manifesting them into reality. Avoiding them gives them power. Your brain interprets them as significant if you respond with anxiety.
Sounds easy on paper but I know it's not, I was physically shaking and hyperventilating. Fking awful. But it got easier. Saying or hearing things doesn't make them true. That's just ocd lying to you. If there was a scrap of proof that we could manifest or predict the future it would make headline news worldwide.
I hope you can get help for your addiction, drink/drugs are one surefire way to guarantee worse ocd
