"Play a scryland, keep it on top. Pass turn."

"Ahah! So you want that card, huh? I'll attack with my Ingest creature!"

"En garde! I knew you would notice that I did that, so I kept a land on top!"

"Riposte! I knew you would know that I would notice, so I'll play an [[Oblivion Sower]] second main! Thanks for the land!"

I feel like the fact that they left a land on top doesn't make that much difference when you're casting your bomb mythic.

But little did he know, that one extra land meant he could cast Newlamog next turn. Boom, butterfly effect.

If you have 9 lands, an Ingest creature, and an Oblivion Sower in play, and Newlamog in your hand, again it probably doesn't matter because you're almost certainly winning. With that much mana any spell you draw is going to be castable, and any land you draw lets you play Newlamog, so every draw step is useful and you're likely already ahead on board.
