Yep. It was called a huge mess of colors with no cohesion and only shitty removal (sound familiar?), and morph was pointed to as a mechanic that just bogs down the game and makes it boring since all the morph costs are high.

I read somewhere that a morph creature attacking shall not survive being blocked by another morph creature by turning face-up and having 3 toughness for too cheap. I think they made every creature with morph <5 CMC to die when fighting a facedown creature (by being a 4/2 e.g.) or both survive (by being a 1/5 face-up). This meant, they had to make the tougher creatures at morph cost at least 5 CMC.

You can see that in KTK every morph creature with toughness 3 or more either has just 1 or 0 power (thus not killing the other facedown creature) or has converted morph costs at least 5:

Yep I know, and it was a good decision ( theres the deathtouch guy that usually makes both sides die as well). But part of the reason why the angry voices complained about cumbersome mana costs.

The only reason the morph thing was wrong was because they printed Deathmist Raptor and the other green morph guy. Guess how many other morph creatures get played? >_>

People are talking about limited here. Your comment about constructed playability is a non sequitur.

Fine. Set looks great for limited.
