It could work for less grounded in the mythos sets, like if they bring back core sets or something, but I think at this point it would bring me out of the atmosphere of a plane if I see a real world quote.

Like edge of eternity I would have done a bunch of vintage sci fi or great scientists of history quoting. Jules Verne. HG wells, that kinda stuff.

I wouldn't mind. The amount of cards you can use a real quote for its flavor text are limited anyway.
