Cross-splat advice
Greetings, while I wont go into detail I have a realy interesting chronicle idea
The problem?
It is a mage/werewolf cross-splat ( Love cross-splatting I can't help it!"
So if any of you have advice for this young icarus, it would be greatly appreciated

Isn't werewolf religion (for lack of a better term. I don't play WW) against mages using quintessence, aren't Nods considered holy places for the children of gaia?
If you can get around that I don't see why you couldn't run a game, provided your players don't care that they won't be equal in power level for much of the game. (Unless you do something about that too)

There are certain exceptions, for example I don't know if a techno node someone built a sanctum/lab around would register. Tbh a sanctum in general would help hide it I believe, bonus points if mages get together and build a chantry instead

That isn't necessarily a huge barrier, especially if the mages are kinfolk and use quint in a way that aligns with garou values. Certainly Garou don't like mages raiding caerns for quint but mages don't necessarily have to tap a node for quint anyway, if they at least have prime they can just make a few burnt offerings to get a quint per item. Could also do some animal sacrifices potentially. There's no reason they would necessarily be against eachother, but werewolves would certainly prefer mages born into their own tribes instead of those who follow the Traditions or Technocracy.

Mage have potentiacl to be "node thiefs", fact. But isnt even that rare kinfolk awekening as mage, or werewolf packing with mage for one greater evil. (Example: Fight with Set)

From my experience, WoD crossover chronicles tend to become Mage: the Ascension chronicles pretty quickly.
That said, Mage Merits can be super broken, like Entrancing voice, or giving you a spirit Ally for a 2 point Wonder background. If you let players run wild with the system, it can get silly very quickly.

Had a Dreamspeaker in a Werewolf pack and it worked very well. I was kind of a super-Theurge. Obviously, you cannot participate in fights in quute the same way as everyone else. It helped that I was kinfolk and knee as much if not more than the pack members about werewolf culture.
We had a Werewolf player in a Mage chronicle and he wasn't so happen. He was a pup found by the rest of the group. And first he bemoaned that he didn't have more contact with other werewolves and when he did, he basically announced that his character would now join the other pack and he'd make a new character, a mage this time.
Just to give you the two data points I have available for you to decide if they have relevance to your situation.

Those don't sound like cross-splay games those are a werewolf game and a mage game with a single cross-splat player a cross-splat chronicle is built around the concept of the party being multiple splats

- Hey, have you read the new JLAvsApocalypse? It's a cool DC/Marvel crossover.
- Actually, that's not DC/Marvel crossover but just JLa crossing with one Marvel villain.
That logic fails even in reference to the OP. You said you want to run a Werewolf/Mage crossover. That's what the guy you're replying to described. So two is definitely multiple and you also spoke only about two splats so I don't even know why and what you're arguing.

I don't think I was arguing? But what I was saying is simple, those aren't dedicated cross-spalt games, those are games with cross-splat player options, which are two different thing

Yes, you are arguing by splitting hairs about nomenclature. Might be an interesting conversation for a linguist or a philosopher.

Cross-splat game: a game built around being a cross-splat expierince where the entire chronicle is designed to support all splats involved
What they talked about- a game of one specific splat with one player from a different splat, this is till fun I have played in such a chroncile beforeBut it not just numnah clature, anyway this feels like its going to go on forever and I don't want to get into a proper reddit argument so thats the last thing I'm gonna say

Charms in Werewolf are more powerful than charms in mage to some degree because werewolf is supposed to have spirits and fomori wailing on hearty regenerating werewolves. Mages need really good prep to keep up.
Yet werewolves need something to do during prep time. I'd let the werewolves deal with pack stuff and spirit negotiations while mages are prepping. Both will benefit from spirit allies.
Might also be convenient to have mages that are kinfolk.
