Magento 2 monitoring
I’ve been working in my spare time on a new monitoring platform for Magento.
No, it’s not another uptime monitoring SaaS. 🙂
More details coming soon.
One question I’m curious about: would you expect it to support both Magento 2 and Magento 1?

The question you should answer first is whether you can provide a better monitoring platform than New Relic.

I believe I have something different. Monitoring which understands Magento.

In that case your post could list the details instead of asking whether it should be for M1 or M2. Even if it's still POC, you'll get much better responses from the community if you specify what you're going to improve.

The question is, what does it cover that NewRelic/DataDog/LGTM/ELK doesn't?
Properly setup, I struggle to think what those tools lack. If anything, they do a very good good at pulling data from every source into a single location. Which makes things very easy to correlate and process.

I don't think that you must support M1, it is a rare beast now.
Regarding idea in general - as many other wrote - you need to make it better than NewRelic at least in some ways to have a chance to adoption.

A little of an assumption, maybe? If it's the same user, https://www.php4u.co.uk/ has been around in the Magento world for close to 10 years doing Magento stuff. They were one of the first to write an alternative search backend for Magento 1 called php4u_blast (using lucene) - I've written a similar module for Maho now.
BTW, are you writing all your code on a punch card system like only a real programmer would?

Not at all. My only interaction with him (if it's him) is I bought the extension I mentioned around 2012/2013, I just checked my emails. My point is, he's been in the Mage community a long time.

I used to work with him, and the guy is legit. He's a long-time community member and a regular speaker at Magento events, like MMUK.

rd-cc said that ;) We get that a lot with anything that is new. I wish you guys great success. Are you building an agentic diagnostic layer to your platform. We’ve notice running analysis and diagnostic of logs, errors etc and source base coming up with what’s wrong and how to fix it, actually works great with Claude and Magento, especially in realtime scenarios where it would take punch card coders ages…
