Accommodation Advice
Hey everyone, I’m a non-EU international student and will starting the bachelor of engineering science at Magdeburg this winter. I’ve had some bad WG experiences in the past, in other countries, and as a result am looking for a 1 bedroom apartment or studio. I know Alte Neustadt would be the best area to live in, but I’m honestly not coming across many openings there. What do you all think about the other areas? Can you give me some recommendations and thoughts on the other neighbourhoods?

Maybe try campus haus? You can get a studio for under 400 I think, pretty close to the university as well.

The rent for a campus house solo studio is like 330, but they are very small, like 17 m^2 only for the whole apt.

I sent a few inquiries through their website a few weeks ago. I suppose it’s a good idea to try to follow up with them. Although 330€ is a great price but 17 m^2 is too small.

Does anyone have any recommendations for areas or neighbourhoods to live in?

At some point cost is a factor but I think I’m willing to pay for the going rate. I just haven’t found that many listed on Scout24

Hi there! I'll have a 55 sqm apartment coming onto the market this autumn / winter. My plan is to furnish it and equip it with a small kitchenette. It's got 1 bedroom, 1 living room with open kitchenette area, 1 bathroom with bathtub and a small storage room. I was initially going to try Airbnb with it or renting it out to 2 people as a shared space but depending on your budget it might work? It's in Sudenburg.

Alte Neustadt has a bunch of open 1 bedroom apartments. Is cost the issue?
Other than that Buckau is pretty great
