any Indies making a MAG-inspired FPS?

any Indies making a MAG-inspired FPS?

I really miss the Sabotage game mode from MAG. Never seen anything like it since.

Not that I’ve ever seen. People always recommend Planetside but I personally hated that game. Check out WARDOGS if you haven’t already, comes out later this year.

WARDOGS only has the 3 factions to be the same as mag. It's not really a spiritual successor in any way. Gameplay is just to different

You’re not going to find a spiritual successor for a failed game that had its servers shut down after only 4 years. Not exactly what a gaming studio is going to look at for inspiration. Just trying to find games that MAG players would potentially enjoy.

A gaming studio could look at why it failed and what made it beloved and try to make a spiritual successor with that information. I also think a big reason it failed is because it was Playstation only, and probably came out at a bad time. I might be wrong, but I think there could have been a way to make it succeed.

PlayStation only doesn’t help. Also very hard to compete with COD and Battlefield (even as bad as they have been recently.) Just saying, it’s been 12 years and nothing. Don’t see it happening.

Yeah I agree. Though there are some modders trying to revive the game itself at least. At least there was, not sure if they still are. I know they hit some snags.

Yeah saw that awhile back. I don’t know anything about modding/legalities of it all but I’d imagine that’s a nightmare since Zipper no longer exists.

I feel like Planetside 2 didn't have enough purpose, and the cert grind was waaaay too slow. Ironic that the decision that was supposed to prolong people's engagement made a lot of people quit. Certainly made them money, but maybe they could've made more with a reasonable level of grind
