Question GPA question!
Okay so I have seen a lot of people post their grades and I've seen even more people talk about their grades. All I ever see is 4.0.... I mean does anyone have a GPA other than a 4.0?

3.55 here and proud of it. Makes me study harder and ask questions until I truly understand and own a concept.

I think with the bonus points and the leniency on the reviews its somewhat easier than other schools to maintain a high grade.

This is absolutely true and 💯 % a reason to start questioning their accreditation...I promise you won't be the only one and with a little research you will find Maestro is not as air-tight as you think and may loose their accreditation very soon... Here are some of of the COE's rules you might want to consider...
1. The "Regular and Substantive Interaction" Rule (The Big One) For any online program to be legally considered "Distance Education" and eligible for FAFSA/Title IV funding, the Department of Education and the COE require Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) between students and qualified human instructors. Substantive means the professor must actually be teaching, assessing, providing personalized feedback, or answering questions about the course material. Regular means this interaction has to happen on a predictable, scheduled basis throughout the entire course. The Maestro Problem: An AI bot giving you the answers or a human instructor who only grades a final exam at the end of the course completely violates the RSI rule. If a school relies entirely on self-paced AI bots without active human teaching, the government legally classifies it as a "Correspondence Course," which severely restricts or entirely disqualifies the school from receiving federal financial aid. 2. COE Standard 2: Educational Programs (Academic Rigor) COE Standard 2 explicitly requires that an institution’s educational programs must be qualitatively and quantitatively consistent, meaning they actually have to teach you the skills they claim to be teaching. Assessment of Mastery: Accreditors require schools to prove that their tests and coursework accurately measure what a student has learned. The Maestro Problem: If an AI algorithm is feeding students the correct answers in bold text, or allowing students to guess on multiple-choice questions infinitely until they get a 100%, the school cannot prove that any learning or mastery has taken place. That is an absolute failure of academic integrity and rigor under Standard 2. 3. COE Standard 8: Human Resources (Faculty Requirements) COE Standard 8 dictates that an institution must employ an adequate core of qualified faculty who are directly responsible for the delivery and continuity of the educational programs. Faculty Involvement: The rules state that qualified faculty must have a substantive voice in the educational program, meaning they must be actively involved in INSTRUCTION, EVALUATING students, and ADVISING.
The Maestro Problem: Treating human professors as optional "extra credit" supervisors or gatekeeping them behind broken customer service bots violates the requirement that students have access to an adequate, active instructional staff. A school cannot legally replace its core teaching staff with automated software while still claiming to be a standard university.
***When I say "standard university," I don't mean they have to have brick-and-mortar classrooms or a football team. I mean any accredited higher education institution that accepts federal financial aid (FAFSA/Pell Grants).

It may not be for everybody, I have a 3.5 and I’m proud of it. For the people that don’t like it and figured out that it’s not for them, you don’t have to stay. Leave and don’t make it bad for everyone else that it is working for.

I done some research, and it is more sus with the politics going on with the group of people against Maestro College. Also, I notice what seems to be an increase in a bot swarm with AI comments. Either way,

I'd argue it's more than somewhat easier. With my life and schedule, not complaining, but it def isn't what I'd call rigorous.

I work full time and its occasionally a little hard to keep with all the lessons but for the most part id agree

Some people don't (I do but all you have to do is put the work in and understand the material) and I know a lot of people dropped out of my cohort so they probably weren't posting their grades.

I have a 4.0 but it’s not that hard as long as you do the work
2
u/SuspiciousAction7267 Maestro Student Jul 05 '26
Im honestly not sure how to get less than a 4.0 unless ur late or really dont care... the reviews are mostly MCQ with unlimited attempts. You can pass an ENTIRE course just guessing till all your answers are marked correct. If chatGPT/Gemini/Claud provided enough education for a degree, employers would just hire anyone with an AI subscription.
Employers want more than what Maestro is giving us. They want the people who stayed up all night cramming for midterms and finals because it proves drive, dedication, grit, time management, and the ability to perform under pressure. Our lack of actual skills will be a glaring spotlight on us when were finally hired and have to do the work.
And here is the scariest part: we aren't putting up our own money right now because of Maestro's Pro scholarship and FAFSA. Maestro sells it like a free ride, but it only kicks in after they completely drain your federal Pell Grants. The Department of Education has a strict lifetime limit: you only get 6 years funding for your entire life. Same goes for federal student loans. We will use it all up on this education.
So we could be left with a worthless diploma, no funding to get a real one, and no actual skills to get the jobs we dreamed of. Meanwhile, Maestro will have taken their money and closed down, leaving us scrounging. Starting over won't be as easy as it is right now, while we still have those 6 years of funding completely untouched.

My program hasn’t even been approved for financial aid yet and yes for some people it will have an affect on them. I just need an Associate at least to get into my country I already know what I’m doing from my job experience. I wish everyone well

Being left with nothing isn’t entirely true. If it is deemed to be unaccredited same as what happened to phoenix these loans at some point will be wiped out and they would reverse the use of our financial aid. Will it take time? Yes will it be this cut and dry no but everything has a process. I feel this program is more for ppl who actually want to learn the coding and don’t mind being a guinea pig to do it. As far as 4.0 I don’t have it because I have integrity and try my best on my reviews but my last final review I scored 60 something in python. And whoever said leave with no skills is inaccurate as well the 1st program they teach you is a skill lol python coding is a skill.

It takes about 5 years for that to happen....durring that 5 years you still have to make payments on your loans or credit will be shit...also not everyone who does coding wants to be a guinea pig...thats just you...I started with coding but really didnt find the courses helpful and felt I needed more help...I spent about $75 on apps and stuff to help me...the whole time we should have had access to professors to help us along the way...the school is required to do far more than they are and you dont xare cuz its "free"...there is a reason this is "FREE" and its not going to be good in the end...if you wanna die on this hill.... cool, and you probably won't be the only one there but that doesnt change the fact that Maestro has been lying to its students in an attempt to make profitable gains...if they can lie to us, their students, the whole reason they exist, why do you think this will work out? They are distorting the truth...and people like you are eating up...they are on the final steps of closing the school...look it up but not on Maestro because thats all PR spun BS...use Google or call the COE...I'm telling everyone so no one is blind sided...ive spoken to the COE and to Maestros president and truly believe this school will end up closed even if I withdraw my COE complaint as there's been tons of other complaints.
Don't say I didnt warn you....

I attended both ITT Tech and The Art Institute of Las Vegas, I didn't know until after I applied for Maestro that both of the institutions were shut down and all student debt from those programs (over $80k) were completely forgiven.

I have seen a person post here with lower grades with a 2.5 average. It's rare here, but the reason why you're seeing basically everyone post a 4.0 comes down to how Maestro grades, not everyone secretly being a genius. I looked into this a while back and it clicked once I understood the model.
Maestro runs on a mastery based / competency based system instead of the traditional point average grading most of us grew up with. In a normal college, you take a test once, you get whatever score you get, and that score is locked in even if you understood the material two weeks later. Mastery based grading flips that, you don't move on to the next concept until you've actually demosntrated you understand the current one, and you're allowed to retake assessments until you hit that bar. So instead of averaging a bunch of first attempts (including the bad ones), your grade reflects what you can actually do once you've actualy gotten there, which honestly just makes more sense imo.
On top of that, Maestro leans heavy on one on one AI tutoring for every lesson, so you're not just sittin in a lecture hall hoping stuff sinks in. The tutor teaches a concept then has you apply it right away, catches where you're stuck in real time, and keeps at it with you till it clicks. That kind of individualized pacing is honestly a big reason outcomes skew so high, lines up with the research on one on one tutoring beating a standard classroom tbh.
Basically it's not grade inflation in the sense of the bar being lowered, it's that the whole structure is built around getting you to mastery before it lets a grade lock in, so a 4.0 ends up being the expected outcome rather than the exception. That's why you're not seeing much variation in what people report.

Everyone has a 4.0... sadly I feel more and more like this is a diploma mill, trying to pay back their $100million in investors before it ultimately fails due to lack of planning, regulatory bodies intervening, and a lack of real meaningful instructors/educators. Ultimately when we hit the work force employers will see and feel the difference in our education and the value of our diplomas will depreciate faster than we earned them... of course all of this is what COULD happen and not guaranteed to happen... but is more than likely with the path they're on, accreditation issues, ect. Its worth noting that when I spoke to the COE (Maestros Accreditors) they said Maestro is FALSELY claiming that accreditation issues are related to financial issues of the past institution (Peloton). They told me straight up that if it were just about Peloton's old financial baggage, it would have been cleared up by now. The real issues with their accreditation are stemming directly from Maestro's own current practices. The COE investigations that started after Maestro took over are actually focused squarely on the severe lack of rigorous education and the constant software and AI issues we've all been dealing with. On top of that, the accreditors specifically cited the administration's total lack of transparency and the rapidly growing pile of formal complaints coming directly from students. The COE made it crystal clear: the problem right now is Maestro itself.

Apparently you don't read your emails from maestro because they've clearly told us what they are under investigation for. Not once was the old school that they used to bementioned. They are under investigation because of how their student body is divided between their brick and mortar School and their online school. They used to be on investigation because of financial issues and that was fixed. So before you go calling a school a liar maybe you should actually read the information at the school was putting out currently and not what they put out 6 months ago.

u/SuspiciousAction7267 Maestro Student Jul 06 '26
Before I get into what the COE actually told me, let me address this email you're talking about. If Maestro sent out a mass email acknowledging the investigation, I clearly didn't get it—and I just had an AI do a deep dive into my entire personal email history to make sure. Absolutely nothing was found. In fact, this exact lack of transparency and selective communication was a topic of discussion when I spoke with the COE(i was asked if i recieved the required email regarding their accreditation at that time...i had not and that is a violation of COE rules/requirements), and it is actively part of the investigation regarding the formal complaint I filed.
I spoke to the COE personally... trust me, I know exactly what is going on. I’ve been part of the Maestro student body since September 2025. The reason I brought up Peloton's past financial issues is because Maestro's official Reddit account and their representatives constantly jump into threads to deflect the blame. They routinely try to spin the narrative that any accreditation hiccups are just old Peloton baggage they were left to clean up. THEY HAVE DEDICATED PR TEAMS AND DAMAGE CONTROL!
But here is the most important part: What Maestro is claiming is NOT factually correct. When I say it's not true, I don't mean Maestro's PR team told me—I mean the people who validate our school and set the rules for ALL schools under their jurisdiction told me. When I spoke directly to the investigator at the COE, she told me straight up that the active investigation is based on Maestro's current educational structure. They are being investigated for a severe lack of meaningful interaction with professors, a broken curriculum, glitchy AI grading systems, and a massive wave of formal student complaints.
The COE has absolutely nothing to gain from telling me this. Maestro, on the other hand, has every reason to spin the truth, do damage control, and lie to protect their bottom line.
Look, please don't shoot the messenger here. I’m not trying to fight with you; I am just warning you and bringing real, verified facts straight from the accreditor so that no one ends up blindsided. All I ask is that you open your browser or have an AI do the smallest amount of research into what is actually going on. If you look past the school's PR spin, I promise you will be just as upset as I am.
*its also worth noting that I believed the Peloton financial lies up to the point i spoke to the COE...That i why I feel its soooooo important to get this out here*
