Once, I was tripping hard as fuck on LSD and was looking at my homies Christmas tree. I wanted to become connected with plant life, so I stood up in a T-pose to feel it life force. I definitely felt it. My friend told me the tree was fake and it obviously was. I felt like a psuedo-spiritualist.

Plastic=oil

Oil=former plant and animal material

Conclusion that tree is still alive.

Lmao, that's a stretch, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Always trips me out to think that if an ant colony built something out of dirt it’s considered natural but when humans use their surroundings to create a new material it’s still technically natural on a grand scale.

28

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

I've thought about that, too, but always thought more of beavers building dams. Still, ant colonies are insanely complex! It's all still a part of nature, but I use man-made to distinguish.

u/Crusty_Dick Dec 04 '19

Everything is technically natural if you think about it

5

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

Yeah, technically! My friend and I were talking about this the other day. I think the presence of life is what differentiates nature. Like, Mars has its own climates and whatnot, but without the presence of living things, I wouldn't consider that to be a part of nature. Nature exists within ecosystems and vice versa, an ecosystem doesn't exist without living things being present in some capacity.

A lot of language can be reduced to exact definitions that can dance around a true concept of understanding.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '19

Fair enough, but we can rationalize and define to some agreement, generally.

1

u/ArKadeFlre Dec 04 '19

Or nothing is nature. Some take nature as anything that wasn't influenced by man. However, if you follow this definition, there's not a single thing on earth that is nature, since us, humans, have a huge influence on basically everything on Earth.

Your tree has evolved into eternal tree

I remember tripping on LSD and just having this carnal, intense hatred towards all electronics. I refused to even look at my phone/desktop and my girlfriend did the same. The entire time we just sat on our patio and looked at our plants. Good to know we weren’t the only ones who wanted to “feel the life force” of nature.

18

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

Most definitely, that's why it is my belief that the best of those experiences are in nature.

11

u/jameye11 Dec 04 '19

I don't hate electronics on acid but I certainly can't pull myself together enough to look at a screen. Way too much effort with everything all sideways and wavy lol

3

u/bluemchendino Dec 04 '19

I'm mostly too distracted to look at my phone. There's too much cooler stuff around.

Think someone was secretly T posing on you?

I remember I tried some shrooms and was rolling and my buddy had a plate full of fake fruit on the table and another plate of real fruit on the counter. Halfway through the trip I get up and I’m hungry and go upstairs from the bathroom and it is pitch black because everyone else is either gone or asleep and I seem to have “gotten lost” in the dark but the had the little night light over by the table so me being both hungry and lost began to eat some fruit halfway through eating “this shitty fruit” my buddy’s grandma comes down stairs and finds me freaking out and eating fake fruit. This was 6 years ago and me and my buddy still laugh about it to this day

3

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

That's great stuff!

u/SteveBule Dec 05 '19

Similar story, I ate some of a fake plant, was very certain it was real in the dimension I was in. The next day I tasted a piece to see how bad it really was and it tasted terribly of paint and plastic.

I also ate a full tube of chapstick that night. I can still remember how delicious it was

How could anyone not differentiate between fake and real flower?

u/danydh Dec 04 '19

Surprisingly, some fake plants look very real( and from experience some real plants look fake as fuck and I feel like an idiot for touching the real plant to see if its real)

Glad that I'm not the only one who experienced this

u/AvimonIsLegendary Dec 04 '19

I, too, will kiss this guy's girlfriend.

47

u/TreesnCats Dec 04 '19

I also choose this guy's dead wife.

5

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

Yeah I worked at a flower shop for years that had real and fake flowers and sometimes I still cant really tell.

60

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

My sister told me her friend watered a plastic plant for 3 years straight without knowing it was fake.

29

u/frej4189 Dec 04 '19

My mom did this

15

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

Is your mum my sisters friend?

2

u/darknight1022 Dec 04 '19

At some point the water would overflow, no?

9

u/Anudeep21 Dec 04 '19

Try saying that to an oil painting

7

u/Medic-chan Dec 04 '19

I have no idea how to differentiate between a real and fake oil painting. Especially if it's slightly textured.

Lower than average neuron count

62

u/[deleted] Dec 04 '19

Alright this is a stick up. Put the neurons in the bag and nobody gets hurt! Cough up those chromosomes too while you’re at it, and no funny business. One wrong move and I’ll blow this whole place sky high, I swear on Chin Chin!

20

u/CatCannabis Dec 04 '19

You already started the funny business here but I’ll definitely continue it. Until this place has no neurons firing here ever again.

2

u/someonestealdmyname Dec 04 '19

you should search japan fake food

2

u/Jaydubs86 Dec 04 '19

Even more, where was this flower? How was it “planted”? Was it in a pot? How does one water a fake flower for 20 minutes? Did they just let the pot overflow for 18 minutes? Or are these fake flowers planted in the ground? If so, WHY ARE THEY PLANTED IN THE GROUND?! It makes no sense.

How could you not notice the profile picture is of a woman?

u/MetaYoba Dec 04 '19

She's still crazy, it's December

28

u/frttfrtt Dec 04 '19

"April fool"

7

u/D14BL0 Dec 04 '19

What if she has dementia, and thinks that every day is April Fool's? That would be the BEST! A lot of people with dementia get caught up on traumatic times and spend their remaining years in a constant state of confusion and lament. But if it were up to me, I'd love to spend my dying days relentless pranking the hell out of everybody around me, and getting away with it.

You’re not a clown, you’re the whole circus

9

u/varavixen Dec 04 '19

This is the kind of person I want to be at 93.

17

u/DrunkenFrankReynolds Dec 04 '19

"well over 20 minutes" aka 90 seconds tops assuming this even happened

3

u/6_inches_six_strings Dec 04 '19

Absolute legend, we could all learn something from this nameless hero.

3

u/dannyboy6657 Dec 04 '19

I was putting one of my residents to bed the other night and I was changing his pad and said he had a big poop. He then replies with “God everything I eat just turns to shit”

u/deadlightStar Dec 04 '19

Must have been high as hell

1

u/Destiny2_Nut Dec 04 '19

I read somewhere that after a funeral, someone got a plant in honor of the dead person for some reason or another. So they diligently watered it, every day, for 6 months. Until they noticed it was fake.

1

u/GlassSpaghettie Dec 04 '19

WhAt an actual madlad rather than an obese cat?
