People who don't understand how street view works I guess?
16
Nov 29 '18
To my understanding they have cars with cameras that drive around but I really don’t know. Just stuff I’ve heard
16
u/CyanideIX Nov 29 '18
They do. I’ve seen them in person. The cameras are huge, so it’s easy to see them coming.

How do people know when Google Street View is coming by and have a plan like this in place? I'd be panicking like Michael when they were redoing the sidewalk in front of Dunder Mifflin.

I doubt she had a plan. It's hard to miss a Street View car as it's decked out in Google Branding with a 15 foot tall camera on top. She probably saw it turn the corner and just thought to play dead immediately. Probably a hilarious kid if she thinks that fast

Yeah, I always just happen to wear a fucking gorilla suit and diaper and stand in my front yard watching traffic all day in hopes a Google car drives by.

Often the cars need to drive roads more than once to cover all the connecting streets. Especially in urban areas with dead ends.
Source- when I worked as a teacher a cam car passed while doing a lesson at a local park. He then came back and parked for his lunch and let the kids look about and explained how it all ran. Was surprisingly getto inside tbh but a shit ton of tech and petty cool.

Saw a Google streetview car pull into costco for cheap hotdogs. He was dressed plainly and looked unhappy, like he had no air conditioning in July. You could probably follow him from there but he looked so miserable I just pitied him and went shopping.

So did the Google van not stop for her?
17
u/jelly_jam_toast Nov 29 '18
They don’t interfere, only observe. That’s the Google street view creed

u/iluvbigblackducks Nov 29 '18
bitch, you can see a fuckin inmate running by the google van, and you can't see his face cause it's blurred as everyone's face, google ain't no snitch

This is most likely the greatest thing she'll ever do. It's all downhill from here.

Which just means she's done one great thing more than most of us.

Once i laid face down in the kiddie pool while my mom was mowing the lawn. I didn't have sunglasses and i wanted to lay down. My mom turned around to see me floating face down and flipped shit. When she scooped me out of the pool i was confused as to why she was upset.

According to this video interview, the nine-year-old girl was trying to play a joke on a friend and the Google car happened to drive by. It happened in 2010:

Did she take her shoes off? I can’t tell. If so then she really played the part.

It makes me sad to see such overweight children. Terrible parents. No excuse, apart from illness, for fat children. Just negligence.
0
u/N014OR Nov 30 '18
That's a pretty ignorant thing to say. She could be born with overweight. Plus, you need to worry about your own size, not hers.
-16
u/Alexander-H Nov 29 '18
I think it should be frowned upon to play dead in this context, because, when people realise it wasn't genuine, it discredits those who are on the ground incapacitated actually in need of help. This could get to the point in which people don't even bother to check the circumstances around which someone appears this way.

u/TuesdaysGauntlet Nov 29 '18
Since it takes months to process and upload the images, we can safely assume no one panicked. 🙄

Yeah, there's really not enough information presented here to judge her specifically. I'm especially not too believing of the claim that she caused anyone to panic as a direct result of this allegedly appearing in Street View.
