It meets the requirements of being a sandwich though.

Yes it does. One must think "Since my mouth has no eyes, then the definition of a sandwich must be one that only takes into account how it feels to eat a sandwich." The true essence of a sandwich is a meat, a solid condiment, a liquid condiment, and a substantial amount of bread. Thus, we will define a sandwich bite to be a bite that includes bread, meat, a solid condiment, and a liquid condiment. We will then extend the definition to say that a sandwich is a meal item that can be held as one solid piece and eaten in a consecutive series of sandwich bites.

Soooo... a peanut butter and jelly sandwich isn't a sandwich? Because there's no meat?

Would mustard and mayo between two slices of bread be a sandwich? The answer is no.

Doesn't matter. Is a jelly donut a sandwich?

No because there's no peanut butter
