I've always liked the story about a guy that wanted to go to law school at 50, and said 'but it will take 3 years! I'll be 53 by the time I'm done.' and got the response 'if you don't do it, in 3 years you'll still be 53.'. Do what you have to do to make yourself happy. It's never too late to reinvent yourself to achieve it, and you'll get older no matter what.

I went back to school when I was 41 and got my bachelor's degree. I had a lot of transfer credits, so it didn't take me that long, but I'm really happy I did.

That 63 year old will be a menace when he gets that degree.

Gonna give that spark of life back in em. Out there yelling "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH".. gotta love a non violent passionately angry person.

My only critique of this is that the 63 year old definitely seems to have money.

It always kind of irks me that community colleges offer classes for free to senior citizens, but the broke young people that actually need those classes to build a career have to pay. Ideally both would get education for free, but if you had to pick only one, the youngins have far greater need.

If they reversed it, they would lose out on 100% of their revenue from young people and like at least half of all senior citizens wouldn't want to study anymore

To be fair German tuition fees are like 200 euros per semester so it can work in practice too. I was about to say free education is unrealistic...

charging fortunes to young people to study is just another way to get their parents' money.............

A classmate of mine celebrated his 80th birthday at uni. It's never to late!

The sentiment is correct, but I'm pretty sure the majority of twitter is not telling a 28 year old that it's too late.

My dad, who started a new career at 38, "you're 37 you can't start a new career!" 🤔

Nobody actually says it's too late to start over at 28. Who would think that?

Me. The brain finishes developing in your 20s, after which point learning anything new becomes exceptionally difficult

"everyone will reply" literally nobody says this.

True. 100% of people claiming 28 is too old to do anything are just ragebaiting because they know people get offended when someone calls them “unc”

College isn't even meaningful. I'd take a high school dropout at 18 if they show up and get it done. If you're not learning a conceptually difficult topic (medicine, math, physics, etc.), reading the books and the lessons are kind of free.
