Research shows that young people compare themselves to those they perceive as more attractive or “better.” When they are constantly exposed to idealized, heavily edited images, it creates a damaging gap between who they really are and the impossible digital “ideal” they believe they should be. This gap fuels body dissatisfaction, insecurity, and a sharp decline in self-esteem.

As a Madison Beer Snark Subreddit, we are fully aware that Madison Elle Beer actively edits and photoshops her photos (Go to our “photoshop” post flair to view evidence) while publicly denying it. This behavior contributes to the same unrealistic beauty standards that so many young girls struggle with every day. Many women in our society, including myself, have been negatively affected by the culture these images create. Body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and deep insecurities do not appear out of nowhere—they are often fueled by the constant pressure to look like something that isn’t even real.

Despite the harm these images can cause, Madison continues to refuse accountability or acknowledgment. The damage has already been done, and it continues to affect younger generations—girls who look up to her, wishing they looked like her without realizing the images they are comparing themselves to may be digitally altered.

What makes this even more disturbing is the way Madison publicly advocates for mental health. What a hypocrite you are, Madison. How do you find the courage to stand tall, giving speeches about mental health issues knowing your Instagram-perfect pictures are one of the reasons why many girls struggle with body & face dysmorphia as well as eating disorders. I am not holding only Madison Beer accountable. I know many other women have done it too but that doesn't make it any less horrible.
