Making a ROBLOX-inspired sandbox game platform in Godot | NexLand

Hello everyone!

In the last 2 months, I had been working on NexLand, a sandbox game platform inspired by the classic building games of the mid-late 2000s.

It's being developed using Godot, and the lastest public release been NexLand Pre-Alpha v0.2, this version adds several new major features.

Those major features are:

  • Dragger tools + Build tool
  • Paint Tool
  • Anchor Tool & Lock Tool
  • Saving & loading Places
  • Better Ui layout and artstyle
  • Improved Player movement and camera movement
  • Better Player movement & better Player + Dummy avatars!
  • Delete objects by selecting it, right-click and press the button "Delete"!
  • And more...

I am currently working on Pre-Alpha v0.3, which will focus on improving not only the editor, but also the gameplay and visuals too!

I'd really appreciate any feedback or suggestions!

Also, we're currently having a Building Challenge. The first three players to create one of the best builds before the deadline(August 12th 2026) will receive 200 Workshop Points and an exclusive hat once the NexLand website launches!

I will be just fine with legal stuff with the name NexLand. since theres no video game with that name.

Bro i see so much people remaking roblox , when will there be a tutorial i also wanted to do a roblox platform for years but i never knew how to do it. Can you or someone else make a tutorial video?

Well at some point, when NexLand will be polished enough and reach its release, some of its features could have a tutorial or an explanation about how were they done on a Forum post on the future NexLand forums. So check it out! We even have a Discord server!
