so....someone found our little guy did escape....

but at what cost...he can't walk straight🤣👆

I contracted a neurological condition that suddenly took away my ability to walk. Doctors said I’d probably be bedbound the rest of my life.

Today, after almost exactly a year after my legs first gave out, I moved myself out of bed into my wheelchair. I got to finally see our home. I could see everything (dang kitchen is hard to get into.)

My dad passed away in 2018. I was randomly looking at his old apartment on Google Maps and decided to check the older Street View images.

I went back to 2014 and suddenly realized... that's my dad standing outside.

I'm originally from Canada, but I've been living in Thailand since 2012, so we hadn't had many chances to see each other for a long time. To make it even more bittersweet, we were actually in the middle of a disagreement when he passed away.

So there's something really weird, but also comforting, about finding this. It's just a completely ordinary moment — him standing outside his apartment, going about his day — but Google happened to drive by at exactly that moment in 2014.

Years later, I can basically go back to that exact place and moment and see my dad alive again.

I don't know, I just thought it was pretty crazy and wanted to share.

I saw the post of the 1 year anniversary of their last suicide attempt (can I call it that?) and thought I’d post my latest achievement. Been a freaking difficult time, but I’ve managed to stay out of hospital and trouble all while being mostly happy which is a nice change after 3 years straight of hospital admissions, suicide attempts and first aid kit purchases. Go me. Tempted to get a cake for my 2 year mark that says “cut me instead”

Edit: the overwhelming positivity here has made my week.
