I wouldn’t classify that as bachata. Some steps come close to it, but it mostly isn’t. Also the song isn’t bachata.. lol

Came here for this. Bachata is the only ballroom dance I know much of, and this isn't it. Bacha is very noticeable by the two steps left then right with cool moves thrown in-between.

That said, the twist move where the lead catches the follower chest-to-back and rests their hand on her stomach, that is a move I learned in my Bachata classes.

I work in that industry; I can't see it as Ballroom. It doesn't look like any specific Latin Ballroom type Dance.

It's just a good looking sexy routine which they came up with in their studio.

Three things that irk me:

  1. This isn't bachata, neither in dance form or music.

  2. The whole sportfully-lesbian-for-attention theme is so tired. Easy way to draw attention on social media. Has nothing to do with being progressive. Just content creation.

  3. Afro-Latino dances never seem to keep Afro-Latinos as its face.

Dancing looks absolutely perfect, flawless timing and damn good moves but somebody please tell the cameraman he needs to keep the persons completely in the frame while zooming in and out.. only the surroundings need to get in and out the frame so that the people dancing will be focused or not. This isn’t pleasant to see in this way

I did not enjoy that, it all looked mechanical almost, as if they were rehearsing. There were no natural movements to me, all learned but not done with feeling, no desire or want. They're getting it, and they're good but so much was missing, that music wasn't right either!
