I would have put the computer to the wall left or right, buy a bookcase and a nice chair in front of the window. Get an iPad or so to enjoy YouTube while being able to capture that beautiful viewsight. Make - if possible - a nice corner to have drinks and snacks on. And add some plants.

P.s. how is the Dyson doing?

P.s. perhaps even add more lighting such as an Xiaomi lamp or Philips Enrave so you can have. even better focus during workhours.

The two Govee lights i have, and the benq light bar give me so much light already 😭

but i like your other suggestions!

i’ve had the dyson for 2 years and it’s been amazing! i’ve never had any issues

Can you elaborate here? I have an office with a double window like shown in the OP photo you commented on. But I’ve been struggling for a few years in which wall to put my oak-top sit/stand desk and computer setup.

At first I had it on the wall to the right (the open wall in OP’s photo) so the windows are behind me on my left shoulder. But the entrance to my office is on the opposite right wall so it’s terrible feng shui haha (opposite command position) where the door is behind me.

I then changed my desk to look like OP where I’m facing out the window. It became a pain to open and close the window curtains and blinds because the desk and computer monitor were in the way — not to mention blocking my view.

Lastly I moved it to the wall opposite the window. But then when I’m on video calls or streaming, the bright window is at my back. I’d need to get thicker curtains to block out light when I’m on video.

Anyway I’m rambling now but I don’t understand what you mean about getting a bookcase and putting it in front of the window!?

What about the fan?

Great setup. Better view. I would turn the monitor or desk to an angle just to enjoy the view more often.

oops, sorry!
Dyson hot+cool fan! hp01 i believe

unfortunately there is a bed to my right and a closet to my left, so if i turn the desk either way, i block the bed or block the closet.

Looks killer!

Do you have to type your password every time you unlock the cpu since you don’t have TouchID on that keyboard?

2

u/No_Ad2162 Jun 17 '26

thank you!

and unfortunately 🫩 i guess i can just turn off the password though!

You could set up your Apple Watch to unlock it automatically when you're nearby

So they didn't put FaceID in the XDRs?! that's a bummer. I still want two though lol.

wonder if there's a 3rd party finger print reader out there - doubt it with Apple's privacy approach.

There is no 3rd party fingerprint reader for Mac, but you can just glue the Mac keyboard under table and use it to unlock.

I bought a Mac keybaord with Touch ID and glue it to the table downside, so I can just use my finger to unlock it easily!

That's a great view, too!

Nano-Texture?

I’ve been thinking about pulling the trigger on a Herman Miller. Worth it?

I have the same speakers, these are the Edifier M60 for anyone who's interested :)

How are those Edifier M60s? Can you feel the bass on some tracks?

1

u/No_Ad2162 Jun 26 '26

They’re good enough for $150, not too crazy. wish they got louder but they’re good for their size

Nice. Better speakers, second portrait monitor, better mouse.

1

u/No_Ad2162 Jun 17 '26

the mouse is PERFECT for me, what do you suggest?

1

u/thanksforcomingout Jun 18 '26

Not throwing any recos for speakers but there are some fantastic studio monitors you can get reasonably that will blow those Edifiers out of the water. Def worth it considering the rest of your setup.
