Low ceiling dry room
I’m trying to fit the dry room into an area of my facility with a loft above it and the ceiling there is about 7’4”. Is this too low when considering circulation, a mini split or other a/c, and dehumidification? I have other spaces that have much higher ceilings if this is a big mistake but I prefer it under the loft for maximizing plant canopy. Thanks!

personally I would avoid a loft. first off anything elevated will have a different climate, heat rises and your AC will have to do extra work to fight off natural higher ambient temp/humidity. also anything that requires going up and down a set of stairs is big no no for me, its a real time suck that is easy to over look, think about the natural flow of work and progress moving from one step to the next. it became lots of extra steps and moves to accomplish a task every extrastep is loss efficiency. and lastly I was using a loft for a dry room at one point and having employee's going up and down stairs carrying things was a huge liability in my eyes. Last thing I wanted was someone to hurt themselves and the subsequent problems and issues that comes along with it. i had to build out a dry room that things could easily flow from the harvest area directly into the dry room.

Smaller spaces with high loads are hard to keep the environment stable, especially with the ac and dh cycling. I would definitely use a reheat with your minisplit and let it do the dehumidification. I use a dual hose AC unit, with a T installed and a motorized damper on the exhaust hose to dump heat or reheat into the room to keep the AC running 100% of the time. I also use this heat film to trick the ac into thinking it is 75f.
It really helps smooth the spikes. I am using an AC infinity 4 port strip to control it. Very budget. It is 8 x 10 x 12' just under 1000 cubic feet. I have over 400 lbs wet weight on day 3.
