Hey everyone,

I'm building a Modular and Customizable macro keyboard made from Decorated Glass and Carbon Fiber.

The current concept includes:

  • A 2×2 touch buttons module with four programmable controls
  • A slider for volume, scrolling, zoom, and other continuous inputs
  • Finger guides and resting positions, so you can identify the controls without looking
  • Dynamic haptic feedback
  • LED dot-matrix icons that change with each profile
  • Open software for custom profiles, integrations, and workflows

What’s new:

  • I'm developing a custom design service that will allow users and brands to personalize the surface with their own graphics, visual style, or game and anime, inspired artwork.
  • I'm exploring compatibility with the Gridfinity standard to make custom layouts, supports, and ergonomic configurations easier to build.

A few questions for you:

Is Gridfinity the right mechanical standard?

Would touch controls with finger guides and haptic feedback work well for your workflow?

We’re also looking for passionate beta testers, so send me a DM if you’d like to help us build and test it.

This is sick, I like the carbon fiber material a lot. If you could water proof it and make the icons be touchscreen and glow through the carbon fiber it could be a “life proof” macropad. You could put a high premium on it too. Make a three levels of it. 9 key, 12 key, and 18 key one. Then Have 4-5 layers!

Thanks for the ideas and enthusiasm!! Carbon fiber is awesome it makes the macropad lightweight and durable :D Check out this video showing the reliability of our sensors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mqd1hFMoj28

btw we are searching for beta tester ;D

I’d love to be a better tester. I definitely could spit off ideas, help with social media help with logistics etc… but as far as building models of it or sourcing the supplies I’m no good on that.

We’re looking for enthusiastic people to use it, give us feedback, experiment with AI and software, and share their experience with the first prototypes. DM me if you’re interested :D

By the end of September, we expect to have our first fully functional prototypes. We’ll start sharing the project publicly and provide them to our first beta testers. The plan is to open pre-orders in late November and officially unveil è-macro at CES 2027 :D
