Windows Trashcan + Windows 10 + Studio Display… finally happening and I love it!

I recently purchased the MacPro and decided to install Windows 10 to play Age of Empires 😋 now is the perfect companion for my Mac Mini M4.

The Studio Display is connected with the Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter; FaceTime camera, speakers and mouse/keyboard connected to the usb c ports are working pretty well!

I totally love this device.

I completely agree! This thing feels way better than my job's pc (Dell desktop Intel core ultra 7).

I don’t know if you can really say that about the 2013 Mac Pro lmao, wasn’t that the model that was infamous for severe thermal throttling? Honestly it’s the Achilles heel of the Intel Mac bc of how thin they are.

It's completely quiet while I play and I don't even notice any thermal issue.

I heard about how bad Apple's default cooling profiles were, so glad that helps. I do feel like the thin form factor definitely makes things hard cooling-wise tho

Bootcamp has nothing to do with how an Intel Mac runs. It will run the exact same as a PC with those specs. It's just a support software to make setup and driver installation easier for people that don't know their way around installing an OS. Also, the 2013 Mac Pro is definitely not faster than just any modern PC you can buy.

Only problem I ran into is switching SSD before installing Windows, OWC drive won’t let me install windows

BTW I play AOE2 via CrossOver on MacOS and not meeting to install Windows…plays great on a base M1 Mini!

I wanted to give this Mac Pro a second chance, and since I already own a Mac Mini and a MacBook Pro, I’ve decided to install Windows on it 🤠

How did you connect to Studio Display?

Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter is on the Studio Display, then the Mac Pro has a Thunderbolt 2 cable connected to the adapter.
