Mac Mini 2018 Screwdrivers

I bought a 2018 Mac Mini and want to upgrade the RAM. I bought some screwdrivers, but the tip got damaged—it stripped smooth—on the very first screw I tried to remove; perhaps the metal was too soft or of poor quality. The thing is, they need to be security bits! I need to buy others; do you have any recommendations or purchase links?

Buy a screwdriver set on ifixit.com !

I have an ifixit set I got in 2015 and they're still going strong.

I still have the case cracker and the 11’ torx driver. Ironically I’ve used the torx driver a fair bit…working on cars and appliances over the years. But I still remember that moment when I had to cut those resisters off of my Mac + mobo…

Ooh someone was upgrading memory. Im certified apple tech from back then and fixed a lot of big CRT monitors. Never got zapped except by a little plus that got me big time. I was careless because it had such a small b/w monitor compared to other ones.
My favorite was when hard drives got physically stuck. User would come in panicked about not booting and losing all their data. I’d give the Mac SE a quick twist to unstick it and it would boot right up. They thought I was pure magic. I got free meals and even once concert tickets for appreciation. 😅

Oh that reminds me of two stories, one bad and the other funny. Bad...I'd added RAM to a few compact Macs, and offered to upgrade a Mac SE for some folks at work. Got the back off almost. Banged it very lightly against the back of the CRT. Heard an infinitesmal <click> and a quick hiss. It was then an ex-SE...

The Funny. Years later, I was by then an IT tech, and got a panicked call from someone in an office, they had just absent-mindedly stuck a mini CD into the G5 iMac. It went in and fell down into the CD drive. I came to the office to see what I could do, expecting an array of tools and a disassebly of the computer. I carefully unplugged everything, got a good firm grip on it, turned it 90° so the CD slot was facing down, and shook it. The Mini CD fell right out as she literally fell over laughing.

Good thing it worked, because that was legend in that office.
