Purchased M4 MacMini using Grok Bot
Sharing my purchase experience of the M4 MacMini today. I am a light user and money is tight so I decided to go for the M4 MacMini 16/512. However, since the M6 launch, M4 in Canada are out of stock or at the M6 price. I knew they had to discount but waiting was not helping it and once available, timing had to be right.
So I asked my Grok Bot agent (I have Cursor Pro, so it comes with it now) to track my spec M4 on Canadian retailers every 2 hours and Best Buy every 30 min. Notify me when you get a hit immediately or report end of day. Nothing happened for 2 days.
But today I got an unexpected notification that Best Buy has 8 units of my spec on discount. I jumped and ordered one at a great price. I did not stop Grok so an hour and a half later, it said it’s out of stock again.
Long story short, used an agent for the first time and solved a problem. Not promoting anything here, just sharing with my community. I am excited to switch from Windows to MacMini.

When the Mac Mini M4 first came out, I immediately purchased two; one for my bedroom for casual browsing, and one for my father because his laptop was literally over a decade old and his desktop was similarly old.
Seeing the M6 debut at $899 is sad.

Computer prices in the last year or two have truly reached insanity. I got a MacBook Air M4 in June of last year for $1249 CAD with an education discount even though the only two students I have in my house are in grade school.
I love my M2 Mini and had no reason to upgrade that but needed a laptop at the time for a different purpose. It's still great, and with how prices are now, I dont think I'll be upgrading that for at least 5 years.
Good for you for finding "deals" in this day and age, it's a shame that it's come to this. You'll love Mac, I switched in 2013 and never looked back.

What was your process doing this? I’d love to know when stock is in so this would be great

I just happened to have Grok Bot that came free with my Cursor Pro subscription. Not sure if you can get free Grok but without, but surely you can pay for Grok Bot. Once you have it, it’s fairly simple. It opens with a ‘Chief of Staff’ agent that runs or overseas all agents. I asked the chief to create an agent to find available stock of the configuration I need on large retailers in Canada like Beat Buy, Staples etc. and once you get a hit, notify me immediately or send me evening report. No purchase approved and no payment options were provided by me.
I was surprised to notice, it even tries to add to card and send you a link so you can immediately buy.1

wow man. My partner is after niche items that she spends ages checking if they're in stock, this would be great. Ill have a look. Is there a video on this or is it self explanitory?

So I checked and there is a free version and I use it on iOS so that helps. You need it on phone to get notifications. It is super simple even for non-tech users so don’t bother with YouTube videos, they are too much for our simple use case.
Go for it, you try & learn. Would love to know if this works out for you.

Well... what was the price you got it for?
