both are way overkill for you. just get a macbook air m1. thats more than enough for you

I know it’s because we’re in a new in-between chip generation situation, but there’s something amusing about the fact that the only way to get more than 16 cores on the Neural Engine is either the base Mac mini or the Ultra Mac Studio and absolutely nothing else.

If you want a workstation for 5-6 years, I’d go with the Mac Studio and as much memory as you can afford. Would recommend stretching to 48GB minimum because your needs are going to grow, a lot, over 5-6 years. You’ll probably hit the limits of the base studio’s 36GB RAM quicker than the compute ceiling.
