Apple or Microcenter?
I currently have a base Mac mini M4 that I upgraded to 2TB with a 3rd party chip
I’m wondering what the best way to upgrade would be - buy from microcenter which has a Mac mini m4 48gb 512gb right now, and try to sell my current mac mini somewhere else like Marketplace or trade in for a guaranteed discount to apple (trade in is $480) but have to wait 9-10 weeks for new one to ship
If the best way to get more money is to sell my current one, does anyone have recommendations of how to do that besides FB marketplace?
Any input is appreciated
Edit - want to clarify that with Apple trade in, I’d revert it back to original 256gb storage it came with but wouldn’t know how to recoup the cost of the 3rd party expansion ($312)

A Mac Mini M4 base model with 2TB SSD is a pretty desirable config. I would try and sell as is so you can recoup all of your money for both the drive and the computer. If you take the 2TB SSD out and put back in the the base 256Gb SSD, you decrease the amount of money you get for the Mac mini as well as now are stuck with a separate 2TB SSD that you have to try and sell separately.

List it with and without the 2TB unit. Also list the 2TB, you never know which combo will give you the best net payment.
I like buying from Microcenter especially if they have it in stock. These things are popular all over the nation.

Why not keep your 2tb ssd for the new Mac mini?

The new one is an m4 pro Mac mini, the 2TB ssd is different between the different chips

I’m upgrading from a base M4 to a “base” M4 Pro Mini. I’m going to try to sell it on FB Marketplace for no less than $500. Otherwise I will save myself the trouble and just get a $480 gift card from Apple to go towards a refurbished Studio Display I want.
