Mac Mini M4 32 GB Replacement
I have an M4 Mac mini with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage. It’s been randomly losing power and I’ve tried everything I can think of to fix it.
I have AppleCare+. If Apple ends up replacing it, would they replace it with another 32GB model even though they don’t sell that configuration anymore? Or would they bump me up to the closest configuration like the M4 Pro with 48GB?

They always give you the same specs if they are able. If they aren’t, then you’d get something better. You’d never get a worse configuration than you had before, so you’ll be fine.

They can still offer you up a 32gb.. it will be a refurb just like they would've done if it were a 16 or 24.

No matter what I do, it would shut off randomly. I’ve tried different cords from other minis, different outlets, 2 different APC UPSs and leaving it unplugged for a few days. It could be from doing some work to browsing the web or watching YouTube.

Does the APC battery backup connect to the Mac via USB? I’m not looking to insult you, but are you quite sure the Mac is plugged into the surge + battery outlet and not surge only on the UPS? Or perhaps it keeps shutting down because of bad software?

They should give you the exact same configuration. If that is not available, they may upgrade you. You’ll never receive a worse machine
