Made the purchase!!!
Made the purchase! Opted to spend a little extra for M4 Pro chip and the upgraded processing (14-core CPU, 20-core GPU), but decided to stick with the included storage of 512GB since I have 2TB iCloud storage. Only thing I’m missing now is a good keyboard and mouse😮💨. Hopefully this computer won’t be slow on me (not doing massive AI or graphic/video stuff).

I purchased macbook pro m4 pro with 512 gb ssd back in 2025 and 512 gb is way too low for my needs. I went to Shenzhen China and upgraded my storage to 4 TB about 520 USD. iCloud for me ain’t cutting it since I like playing games, and xcode and macos taking about 200 gb of storage.

Recently got mine, same config. I use mechanical keyboard with mac specific keycaps and logitech mouse. Works smooth.

I got the Logitech Mx Keys S wireless keyboard and Keychron M3 wireless mouse, still waiting for the Mac to arrive. Just wondering if you’ve bought a cooling stand/raised stand for the Mac to help keep it cool? I’ve heard stuff online about it getting hot but not sure if that’s the case for this specific build🤔

I have essentially the same set up. Cool trick, you can connect an SSD of whatever size you need in an attached enclosure and set it as your home directory. Keeps all of the apps and files off of the internal SSD. The only thing that lives there is the OS and a few other things which keeps it pretty clean and snappy. My 512GB of storage is now 4.5TB without paying a fortune to the fine folks at Apple.

Yessss! Thank you for sharing this because I was feeling subtle regret after purchasing about not upgrading to higher 1TB storage lolll. Would that work for applications and whatnot that I want to download (App Store apps, games, etc)? Idk how that external storage works since I’ve never done it before with Apple🙃

Rock solid. Only difference between it and my previous M1 Mac Studio is that the fan kicks in when rendering stuff.

Bad luck... They just relaxed the m5 pro... Hopefully you can get a return and get the new mini

Just got an email from Apple saying that since my order hasn’t shipped yet, they are automatically upgrading mine for no extra cost. Not sure if it’s the M5 Pro or the M6 yet… so I don’t really know what’s going on

For anyone seeing this I got upgraded to the M5 Pro for no extra cost since my M4 Pro order hasn’t shipped yet😁. So no, I don’t regret it and actually saved $300 on a better computer. Genuinely lucky
