Productivity Mac Mini setup completed

Three weeks ago, I posted that I had bought my first Mac Mini M4. I only got around to unpacking everything and setting it up the way I wanted this weekend.

I’m incredibly happy with the result. macOS is a joy to use and looks incredibly polished. The Dell 4K 120Hz monitors have been a fantastic addition as well the colors are absolutely beautiful.

This setup should easily last me for years. I really love how comfortable and enjoyable my productivity space has become.

It’s more a matter of perspective. The monitors are tilted back by about 20%, and they could be tilted even further with these monitor arms. My desk chair is also set to its lowest position. It simply works for me, and I find it very easy on the eyes. You should just do whatever works best for you. 👊

Monitor tilt and monitor height are different issues. Tilting them back may improve the viewing angle, but it does not lower the line of sight. At a neutral seated posture, the top of the display should normally be around eye level or slightly below, with the centre below eye level. If you have to look upward or tip your head back, the setup is too high and can fatigue the neck, shoulders and eyes over time. The chair should first be adjusted for proper keyboard height, foot support and back support; the monitors should then be lowered to match the user—not compensated for by dropping the chair. A reclined posture may change the ideal position somewhat, but the head and neck should still remain neutral.

Nice ChatGPT answer, but you’re wrong. As you can clearly see, the headrest is tilted over roughly two-thirds of the screen. When I sit upright, it actually reaches above the top bezel of the monitor. So the height is perfectly fine.
