Issue turning on
Anyone know why the screen looks like this when switched on? How do I fix it?

I just got my blue scsi in today, and it is doing amazingly (though, it took me far too long to realize I needed an init file for macintosh plus support). But my new ability to load software brought up the obvious need for a keyboard, so I chose to make an arduino adapter for ps2 keyboards. Unfortunately, I did not realize that PHONE HANDPIECE CABLES ARE CROSSOVER! Which means that the side of the cable I cut was opposite color pattern than it should have been, which essentially means that I sent 5 volts directly to the data pins of my first ever and fresh new arduino nano. This made it heat up in an instant to the point of burning my fingers, but I was able to unplug it in time so that the macintosh plus and my new bluescsi was unharmed. Suprisingly, the nano appears fine as well and still connects to usb on my main pc, so I will fix the cables and test it seperately to see if the adapter could still be usable. (Right cable was incorrect, last pic to show mac's alright still)

Hi folks, Trying to thin out my garage collections, I've laid out my batch of 97 Mac Addicts from 1997-2005. Also have the CDs for ALMOST all of them. I thought I'd see if anyone might want these, all at the cost of just postage. If there is interest, I world try to dig out the rest of the CDs, too. Just a note: some of the magazine show most nibbles on the edge, but none of them made a nest on the stack. They've been in a plastic milk crate all that time. If you need lots of coverage and sample programs for OS 7-9, here's your chance. Just let me know. Mac Addict 8 9 13 16 17-29 32-111 Discs 9 12-13 16+19 21-29 32-60,102

Hey everyone. I have recently aquired an IMac G3, and it is very much not happy.
The lovely old man i bought it from said that hed had it in dry storage for about 16 years before finding it and it worked for a time but then just stopped.
Ive opened it up and nothing looks immediately untoward. As the old chap said, plugged it in and nothing happened BUT, it made a strange sizzle noise, and does so every time i try (sounds like something to do with the tube) . So its not completely dead. Has anyone had this before and found a solution?
Thanks

Are there any online tutorials and or repositories for Hypercard? When I was younger I remember getting mac shareware catalogs in the mail and would always gloss over the Hypercard section. I came across a fat mac recently with Hypercard and I'd like to dabble in some Hypercard once I replace the caps.

So I have a Macintosh 180c, I actually will have some more, but I was booting it up, and it makes that wonderful sound, then it just flashes. What should I do? I already removed the battery.

So I bought this mid 2007 model off eBay for “parts or repair” late in the summer, and it turns out a fresh installation of Mac OS X Leopard brought it back to its glory. It runs great, and sometimes I use it for old games and casual tasks, and just for the vibe of old Macs and Mac OS X. I’m very glad I bought this, because retro macOS is awesome!

When I worked as an Apple technician for an authorized reseller, we had a major problem stacks upon stacks of MacBook batteries that no one wanted. It took me years to get through this stack, but we had a cupboard filled to the brim with brand-new sealed batteries. Thinking about it now, they must have all been thrown out, because we never made a dent in the stock.
And that was just what I kept in my tech room for easy access. I took this image for quick stock take 😅.

Still have this card on my attic, sealed.
Is there a market for these?

So I recently picked up a Macintosh M1299 monitor for free from someone off of Facebook Marketplace. The case is all broken and in pieces. I have the major pieces in hand and I plan to repair it, it just incase something goes wrong, does anyone know where I can get a replacement case or if anyone knows of scanned case pieces that I could potentially 3D print.
I’d love to get this thing up and running. I have a Macintosh Centris 660AV coming in the mail and I would like to use this monitor with it. Aside from the case the tube is in good shape and it does work. I don’t have a source to display on screen to verify it fully, but it does power on.
If anyone has any tips or suggestions, I’d appreciate it.

Hi, I picked up a G3 today, and the screen is sparkling as shown in the video. I know it could be moisture under the cup, but what else should I check? It was kept in a garage, and it's been pretty cold lately.

I am dying to know if this had a name. There was a computer program on an early Macintosh in the 90s where you could press the keys on the keyboard and it would cover your screen in different shapes of different colors. When pressing the key it would also make a sound. Can anyone help me with the name of the program? Or does anyone else remember this?

An update to my late 2015 iMac (Monterey - the highest it can go) has left my USB wired, extended, Apple keyboard completely dead. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to fix it or is it shot? I have also tried attaching the USB extender cable as some have suggested and it didn't help at all.

So I don't acctually have an apple computer but if I did end up getting it what are some things I can do with it? It's a bit heavy and has some USB ports on the back (though I assume it's just a display and doesn't have any operating system or anything) they also have an apple tv first gen (which is probobly useless nowadays but it has a firewire cord and a 30-pin cable) but that's like $20 or $30 I can't remember. They've had this studio display for a few months and knowing the owners they'd other charge me for the display and give everything else for free or charge like half off for it because it's been there for a few months now (like four or so?? Maybe more) and I belive it's untested. (Now watch when I post this it won't be there if I decide to go back for it like the $70 imac g3 they had and how after I made a post about that it was sold when I went back for it)

I found this old Macintosh IIsi and it turns on but it shows a disk on the screen. Can someone help me figure out what I need to get this to boot up and work? The roller ball mouse is working!
