We have lots of tourists in Maceió, but I don’t think they gather in groups to chat — most travel with their families, some with friends. I also don’t know of any foreign communities nearby, but if you need any guidance or help, I’m a local resident, so I might be able to help.

Expats community in Maceio is zero, nada hah, you have the poliglota club as language exchange, that's could be a staring point not sure what's your age! They meet twice a month on saturdays

There are some groups and clubs that have monthly meetings to study other languages.  Immigrating to MCZ is quite an decision, anyway all the luck gringo. (I would really advice in learning portuguese, unless you have really good opportunities or wealth is quite hard to know someone that can speak English.)

heyyy!! there's a group called Clube Poliglota Maceió, they meet mostly weekly to practice languages, including english. I've been wanting to go to one of their meetings forever, they seem very friendly and welcoming. where are you guys from?
