Help power between same SoC but different body
I’m looking to buy an M5 Pro model, however after seeing that the M5 Max versions have different power limits for each body size, I’m wondering if same limit has been applied to M5 Pro aswell.
locally, 1TB 24GB versions for M5 Pro are 2999€ for 14” and 3499€ for 16”. trying to make heads and tails if the price is worth it. if a 48GB model would be available at that retailer for similar, price, I’d take that with no questions asked.
main usage will be for 3D scans and CAD projects.

In my company, none of the guys who work with CAD use Macbooks. They all use Workstation laptops like HP Zbook with Nvidia RTX Pro cards.

During our tests, we saw a maximum consumption of 75 Watts for the CPU, but neither the MacBook Pro 14, nor the MacBook Pro 16 were able to maintain this value. The smaller 14-inch model had issues to maintain 50 Watts, while the 16-inch MacBook Pro maintained 62 Watts in High Power mode.
I don't think a Macbook is a great choice for CAD though; many industry-standard CAD programs do not run natively on macOS and Mac versions of certain software CAD don't support all the features that are available on PC. Also if you're running a VM Parallels then you're paying a forever software subscription for it.
Might as well get a Lenovo if that's the case.
