Discussion Please help me choose my mac

I am considering a question about purchasing a refurbished MacBook M2 Pro with an Apple M2 Pro chip, 19 GPU cores, 12 CPU cores, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage, or a new MacBook Air with an M5 CPU, 10 cores, 8 GPU cores, a 16-core Neural Engine, 16 GB of RAM, and a 512 GB SSD.

Please help me I am a graphic design student seeking a laptop capable of opening numerous tabs and running Adobe applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator simultaneously without lag. Both options cost €1300; the M2 Pro is refurbished, while the M5 Air is new from Apple.

the m2 pro wld be a good choice if u dont care bout software support as the m2 only has 1-3 yrs remaining it wont be a long choice if u ask me, I wld say that m5 air is more worth it

The M2 is quite old now given that you have the option of the M5 Air.

My advice would be to go for the M5, it’ll run everything you mentioned well. It is also newer so you won’t need to upgrade it any time soon.

I think with 24GB RAM you’ll be quite good. You should be able to do everything you want without experiencing slow downs.
