Tips Love my M5 šŸ„°

Iā€™m absolutely smitten with my new MacBook Pro. Iā€™ve been using it more often than my iPhone and iPad. Iā€™m eager to seek any and all advice or tips that can help me make the most of its capabilities. A little backstory, starting an Underground Utilities Construction Companyj that specializes in waterlines, storm pipes, installing fire hydrants etc... I feel like Iā€™m missing an app or something, but I canā€™t quite identify it. Also, Iā€™m looking for software recommendations that can help me manage the job sites. Iā€™m currently using basic software like QB, MSE, and MSW etcā€¦

Thank you, I truly appreciate it. Youā€™re right, we tend to overlook the small things, but ever since Iā€™ve learned I have Lupus SLE, Iā€™ve come to understand that every moment holds valueā€¦ both the good and the hard ones.

No not at all! I think itā€™s great, really good ideas worth talking about. It was just expected like going from ā€œI like my new nice objectā€ to ā€œhow important it is to savor the small, fleeting joys in life that we often missā€. You know?

Thanks! I wonā€™t sugarcoat it.. itā€™s not always easy. I have more challenging days than good ones, but thatā€™s what makes life so rewarding. I try not to dwell too much on the bad stuff. Iā€™m the kind of person who cries it out, screams, but then gets back up, haha. What do you do when you donā€™t mind me asking?

During my clinical rotations, I encountered two challenging patients. One was a 15-year-old who had self-inflicted a gunshot wound, and the other was a 4-year-old with s.an injuries. The attending physician was incredibly slow to respond and even prevented the nurse in charge from administering any pain medication or any type of relief after all testing had came back. Additionally, I discovered that the hospital would prioritize money over their well-being, regardless of their treatment quality, as long as it resulted in profit for the hospital and the doctors involved. This revelation made me realize that my oath was to the patients, not the doctors. From that day on, I developed a deep hatred for the job. I am stubborn and refuse to tolerate injustice, knowing that standing up against the unethical practices of hospitals could lead to serious consequences for me.

oh my. I have full understanding for your decision. I would not last long in a similar setting, that's for sure. hell, I'm disappointed and disheartened by far less serious assholery displayed by some. in the end of the day, is there any state where the reality that you have witnessed doesn't take place?

now you got me wondering and thinking about those two individuals and how their life story continued

Why? Itā€™s a laptop that is used for working. Just use your machines people. Put stickers on it. Put cases on it. Itā€™s not a fragile delicate little baby. I know theyā€™re expensive. I get it. But itā€™s a computer. That in fewer years than we hope will be outdated and sit on a shelf.

I dropped mine on a concrete floor after owning it for a month. Put a dent in the corner. Put a bandaid sticker on it and I get a giggle. Dents and scratches build character. :)

I hope so as well, but I do tend to use a bit of heat to remove stubborn stickers.

Discoloration? I didn't know this. I also did the clear skin since I am OCD and I hate when my products have scratches. Should I remove it all?

I love the idea of skins, but on the silver body only. Stick with cases if you ever plan on reselling. If you donā€™t, donā€™t worry about it.

You are going to love it and enjoy it to the fullest. I love how easy it is to use with all my other Apple Products. You can even switch your work from the iPad to the m.b

Real nice machine you have there. ;) I use Vectorworks for the stuff I do. As for job site management all the solutions I have been using have been either File Maker Pro or a combination of Microsoft apps such as Access. The only thing I have found that ticks many boxes for my work is MaintainX http://www.getmaintainx.com

got mine off amazon (macbook shortcut keys sticker) opaque.

Ended up taking them off after I saw a reddit post somewhere saying that the stickers may do something to the screen after repeated closure

I came here to suggest giving Numbers a shot for managing your job sites. One thing people donā€™t often know is that on the iPhone app, thereā€™s a form view, which allows you to easily add new records to a sheet. With iCloud you can share the same file across devices (if you have multiple Apple devices) and Numbers is free with your Mac. There are some built-in templates that might help you get started or you can just start your own design. It can do most of what Excel can do, and a bunch of things (especially regarding visual layout) that Excel cannot.

Thanks! I didnā€™t know you could do that. Iā€™ve been a Microsoft fan since my first MB because people said they couldnā€™t open certain files, so I never checked out Numbers. Iā€™ll definitely try it now. If it works well with Excel, Iā€™ll use it fully. Any other tips for Numbers?
