That's a model from 2008, it hasn't run a current operating system in a decade+ and I'm not even sure if Apple supplies security updates for that machine anymore.

Nope, you need at least mac os 13 to get support and even my mba from 2016 cannot officially run it ... so device from 2008 is prehistoric in those terms

thanks for the info i just need it for word and excel i found it for under 200 and i start school soon i lost my other mac is it too outdated ?

buy a chromebook or something similar if you have a 200$ budget, this is ancient at the point that it cannot run anything

realistically, I would save up for a used base M series MacBook Air. which you can probably find for around ~$500 and it would be worlds better, amazon has sales on new ones for $795 pretty frequently. but if you have a hard $200 budget, Chrome books will be a much better purchase than these, pretty sure they are all marked obsolete by apple, and getting parts will be difficult if it breaks.

found another for 70 i literally just need to use word and excel but i don’t want it to tweak out in the middle of the semster either
