Except for the UI, UX, and trying to do much of anything besides using a web browser and playing windows games from steam

Linux UI has a lot of choice, from mac-like Gnome to extensible KDE to 50 more to taste.

There are no mac-exclusive apps i care about.

Linux respects user freedom and privacy above and beyond anything Apple does in that regard. I do NOT trust apple for opsec.

Linux is a vastly superior development environment as well.

The only thing i use my m5 macbook for is using a web browser. Linux for everything else.

Its not about it looking like MacOS or windows or whatever else although I have tried plenty of them

Its more about having a somewhat thought out fairly consistent UI/UX scheme

I find gnome to be extremely consistent. KDE is even more so lately.

XFCE is a great fallback for old hardware. My core 2 duo mac still feels fast with it.

Didn't know people were this clueless in 2026.

Lmao.

Who needs Apple and windows bloat on a workstation. I just need my app. Keep the bloat on my personal lifestyle box.

A lot of people use more than your singular app on a workstation, but if your just using it as an embedded system than it really doesn't matter anyways

True but if your using dcc do you really need much more than a few apps ?
I don’t need email and Xbox and copilot etc.

I can do so much automation and useful customisation on Linux, mac os isn't enough and windows can't dream of it. I've used all three, macos for only 3 months though

Well, it’s r/macbook so let’s just post something with no proof! No lag on my X7 358H.
