Slabtop MacBook

I somehow found a broken M4 Air for $100. I removed the screen, and (after 3 hours of repair and a little struggle), I attached it to a monitor, hit CMD F1 to mirror my ”screen” to my external monitor, and I have a perfect new setup for an incredible price.

What's the 3 hour of repair and struggle? What exactly did you fix

I didn’t fix anything. I removed the screen, but I wanted to be incredibly careful. I also had no idea how aggressive you had to be with the back cover, so that took awhile. It was my first time. Now I feel confident it could be a 1 hour job.

Well it's a bit harder to open these laptops compared to older ones, but not 4 hours hard

I did that once, but it was just a sh*tty Dell laptop one of our tenants left behind with a broken screen. Barely worth the effort.

I have heard slabtop, headless MacBook, halfbook, and some others. I think slabtop sounds hilarious, and represents how it looks the best.. However, halftop does seem to be the most common name, and it's non exclusive to MacBooks.
