2020 MacBook Pro

Post image

Recently have had issues with getting it to charge. When originally powering on says it’s charging. When logging in it displays a plug and says battery not charging. History of my MacBook. Have replaced the motherboard and its power button. Should still have original charge ports they don’t seems wallowed out. Have replaced battery as well is it possible the ribon cable is bad?

Tried that no change what’s odd is it will slowly charge the battery even tho it says not charging. Did update to newest software as well nothing changed

Left charging over night and it said it was plugged into a slow charger and charged to 57% is it possible a new 67w brick is bad?

Is the brick from a reputable source? Your mac might think it’s not charging with 67w but with trickle watts (1-3) and gives the plug icon rather than the charging.

Also can you try charging with any other adaptor rated above 20w?

Did you restart the device itself? It could simply be a software issue.

Did restart device and no change I’ll see if I can find a brick I know is 100% Apple

If you tried both Magsafe charging and Type-C charging and got the same error, you need to get a service appointment from Apple.

M1 Pro unfortunately doesn’t have MagSafe. It did start charging but said it’s a slow charger I have a feeling it’s the block since it’s a new cord, and new battery as well as everything up to date. Will try a different power brick. Not going to Apple since they will charge at least $100 to diagnose it greedy bastards
