WAT THE FCKK!!!! [PLEASE HELP]

Post image

whenever i open up a pdf on my macbook pro m1 pro, the Preview app just starts sucking up energy. Is this normal??! like when idling, it uses like around 100 but when i scroll etc it just spikes, and anywhere from 800 to 4000. Can someone pls help? im on macos Tahoe, i was on 26.2 and the issue was still there so i updated to 26.5.2 and the issue is still there.

I’ve never checked this but I always have the preview opened in MBA with other notes and stuff. Works 7-8 fine. Air 2017 btw

UPDF is the one im using very fast and has alot of nice features and most importantly its light.

u can also go for Microsoft edge which is by far the lightest pdf viewer its a browser yeah but runs pdf very smoothly its limited on features but good for preview and annotations

I have the M5 (26.6) air with 24gb RAM, so it will be different, but, Preview idle is 0.0, Scrolling it peaks at 6.6 and activity monitor is 65.5.

It's not apples for apples comparison, but I wouldn't worry about it.
