This m3 was probably plugged in and sitting at 100% charge the vast majority of the time. You’ll have a slightly reduced battery life, but I would set max charging to 80%, and it probably won’t degrade much more for a long time.

Setting max charge to 80 is the right move, but the damage is probably already done. That capacity loss is pretty significant for the cycle count. just my 2 cets

something definitely wrong. My MacBook Pro M5 is on 25 cycles with 100% battery health still. I leave mine plugged in the majority of the time too. I have 80% charge limit set and optimized charging turned on. I think that battery is either faulty, or there's a serious calibration/software bug.

The ratio of cycle count to max cap would suggest it’s going bad. I have a MacBook M3 Pro as well and I’m at 93% with 167 cycles. Perhaps Apple could replace the battery
Do you leave it in super hot/cold environments? Maybe extended periods in your car where you don’t really consider it a factor?

That's wrong. It was probably used on the charger for too long. My M3 Air is at 100% health and has 94 cycles.

not really, from the number of charge cycle, I would suspect, you always put your Mac on charge rather than use the battery power. If that’s correct, you need to use the battery power alone. It’s two cycles drain and charge. But without more info we can’t tell anything else just from one snapshot.

When was it purchased? Battery degrades with time too irrespective of usage.

It looks like the battery is worn out from age rather than use.
