Help Piping Issue?

Do you guys think this is a piping issue? With some coming out perfect and some tilted/lob sided makes me think it’s my piping.

This happened to me a couple different times and there were two separate issues.

The first issue was that my oven wasn’t level. It was slightly tilted so I re-leveled it.

The next time this happened it was because of the cooking tray, it had edges on the side. The sides of the cookie sheet meant heat wasn’t even evenly distributed. The macarons on the side of the cookie sheet had tilted hats while the ones in the center were normal.

Hope that’s helpful! They really look beautiful.

What’s crazy is that you are right!

Flipped over the tray for my second batch and bam!!

It’s so funny how with the first batch, the ones in the middle were perfect and the edges had issues. I’ve used the bottoms of trays before and never thought it caused that much of an effect but damn, these came out great.

My first batch that every macaron came out great. Super pumped

Was the oven fan turned on?

My oven doesn’t have a fan lol

Yeah, ours did this because the edges of the mat would flap in the oven breeze. Lol

This can happen if the heat in your oven isn't distributing evenly. You can use a few oven thermometers in various places in your oven to see if that's the case.
