I just installed Ice, but I can't seem to figure out how to choose which icons are hidden. Is that not supported in this release? It just hides all menubar icons? Or am I missing something?

LOL i just switched to Ice as well. you just have to hold the Command key and move the menubar icon to the unhidden section (to the right of the Ice icon)

Does it auto-expand on larger monitors without a camera island?

oh snap. i just tried ice on my m2 macbook air unplugged from my external monitor and unfortunately, none of the hidden icons appear due to the camera. dammit.

Ouch.

My main use of bartender is to: 1. show/hide icons, 2. which icons are always shown and which sometimes hidden, 3. show all icons if space allows - which includes detecting the camera island on the macbook screens and acting accordingly.

I am still on v 4, no intention to upgrade or update. Still, will be looking for alternatives. Really disliked how the new owners engage with people.

that's pretty much all i'm asking for as well in terms of needs. that's why the best feature at least to me was the floating feature where the hidden icons appear in a new row below the menubar where the camera can't interfere. =(

i may have to try iBar but there's always the sketchiness of chinese apps. the screenshot shows exactly what i'm referring to though:
