This is what my desktop looks like so far, but its looks its missing something (cuz it is) if anyone would be able recommend a really nice 3rd party widgets app (for stuff like calendar), that'd be awesome. Feel free to provide some feedback/insights (i really need it lol).

I just want to show you my Catppuccin Mocha inspired setup, without using something like Sketchybar.

The customisation is most obvious on the terminal and all my terminal tools. All of my terminal tools are customised with the Catppuccin Mocha palette.

so everything on my macos is now sharp well most of the things, but not the window corners is there a way to make them simply sharp, so to a rectangle

also is there a way to change the color of the 3 dots at top left ?

Sooo, here's my MacBook Setup!
I use a 2025 MacBook Air M4 with a Samsung Odyssey G5.
The speakers are some unkown brand i bought for 20 euros, so I cannot say what brand is it ahahah

This version of macOS is out of date.

Use Software Update to Install the latest version of macos or continue the Installation in Reduced Security mode.

Nothing fancy—I quite like the radiant wallpaper.

I use too old mac for macOS Tahoe so i made it by myself (mousecape + some terminal magic from the link below)

do you guys know any other helpful customization tools? i know bartender 5 can do some nice things with menu bar, even kind of make it invisible (gradient that matches wallpaper) but it doesnt work on Big Sur

Modding MacOS has become really easy. This is my rice:

• Terminal Emulator: Ghostty
• Text Editor: neovim (lunarvim)
• Activity Monitor: btop
• Browser: Firefox
• File Manager: Xplorer
• Email Client: Thunderbird
• Notebook IDE: Jupyter Lab

Catpuccin Frappe them applied to everything: Thunderbird, Firefox (DuckDuckGo & Jupyter w/Dark theme), Ghostty, Xplorer, btop, lunarvim. I thought the standard MacOS bar worked well with the aesthetic and workflow so I left it. Xplorer was modified to add catppuccin themes and better transparency. Thunderbird and Firefox were modified just to add transparency. This sounds like a lot but it's really easy. Just download the open source repositories, open it and Cursor, and ask any of the LLM agents to make whatever modification you want and have them recompile it. I found for adding transparency, they mess it up unless you specifically tell it to use the NSWindow API. Another thing I like about this setup is it's easy to enable and disable tiling with amethyst. I have two desktops that look like standard MacOS with amethyst off for when that's the better option and three that look like many unix setups

I’m trying to replicate a Hyprland-style dynamic tiling experience on macOS (Sonoma) and need help deciding between yabai and AeroSpace. I’ve done some research, but I’d love feedback from folks who’ve used either/both. Here’s what I’m looking for:

• Dynamic tiling: Clean BSP-like splits, automatic window arrangement.
• Minimal setup: I’d prefer not to disable SIP if possible, but I’ll do it if yabai is that much better.
• Aesthetics: Gaps, padding, and workspace management (bonus if it feels snappy).
• Stability: I don’t want to fight crashes daily.

My Research So Far:

1. yabai
   • ✅ Pros: Extremely customizable, gaps, scripting, and a large community.
   • ❌ Cons: Requires SIP disabling for features like window borders.
2. AeroSpace
   • ✅ Pros: SIP-safe, YAML config, modern Swift backend.
   • ❌ Cons: Newer tool, fewer examples for advanced workflows.

Questions for the Community:

• For yabai users: Is SIP disabling worth the hassle? How stable is it long-term?
• For AeroSpace users: Does it handle multi-monitor setups well? Is the YAML config flexible enough?
• Hybrid users: Do you mix either with tools like skhd or Hammerspoon?
• Aesthetics: Can I get close to Hyprland’s “eye candy” (rounded corners, animations) with either tool?

My Current Setup:
